Local authors read from Cascadia anthology

- Contributors to an anthology of bioregional writing will read at two local events this week.
Cascadia Poetics Lab, a Seattle-based literary nonprofit, will mark the release of a new anthology project with two waterfront readings.

“Cascadian Zen: Writings from Cascadia in the Here and Now” explores the nature of the Cascadia bioregion and Zen practice with poetry and prose from Gary Snyder, Jane Hirschfield, Tess Gallagher, Tim McNulty and others.
Readings are free to attend at 7 p.m. Friday at WineKraft in Astoria and 3 p.m. Saturday at Time Enough Books in Ilwaco.
Presenting at each reading will be local contributors Cate Gable and Robert Michael Pyle. They will be joined by editors Paul Nelson, founder of Cascadia Poetics Lab, Adelia MacWilliam, a founding editor of Watershed Press, and Jason Wirth, a philosophy professor, author and founding editor of Watershed Press.

At WineKraft, Astoria poets Florence Sage and Jim Dott will read with John Ciminello, of Naselle. Books will be available for sale and signing at both venues.
