Seaside Art Walk in December: Spiritual themes, functional pottery

“Seaside Swans,” Ronni Harris’ quilted art piece inspired by Seaside’s swan boats, will be shown at SunRose Gallery.

Explore the historic Gilbert District during the Seaside Art Walk, a monthly event that offers the chance to stroll around town from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday with refreshments, music and art.

Crafted in Seaside, 530 Broadway

This location will show functional pottery inspired by the sea from artist Ocean Forest, hand built and wheel-thrown, alongside other pieces by local artists and makers.

Also, turn photos into keepsake items like puzzles and reveal art paintings using a creative studio.

Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway

This gallery will host an opening reception for “Anticipation,” an exhibition featuring transcendental spiritual art from Jon Anni, Cicely Gilman and Jo Pomeroy-Crockett.

Anni works with museum strike-offs from fine art paintings from early Medival times, including an enhanced archangel series from European collections. Gilman is a Seaside textile artist and silk painter. She graduated from St. Martin’s School of Art in London, England, and has shown art at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Pomeroy-Crockett is a North Coast resident with art in private collections in the U.S., England, Canada and Switzerland. She also works as a freelance writer and educator.

Pacific Heirloom Art and Collectables, 608 Broadway

This shop will feature an original oil seascape, “No. 1564” from Gavin, a Mexican artist renowned for evocative paintings depicting the rhythm of the sea.

The shop focuses on acquiring works from historical and established artists working on ocean-related themes.

SunRose Gallery, 606 Broadway

Showing new quilted paintings by Ronni Harris, handcrafted messenger dolls by Jan Barber and the whimsical ceramics of Patty Thurlby.

In addition, SunRose Gallery owner and artist Cathy Tippin will offer china earrings and mosaic art. Live music by the Beat Greens and light appetizers will be provided.

TigerLily Gallery, 613 Broadway

Presenting work by Dimensional Diva, a design team that creates modern lighting, art and coastal home decor.

Using upcycled materials, found objects and natural elements, the team’s work is multi-dimensional and often features handmade paper and resin components.
