Chefs and restaurants compete for titles at the annual Seaside event.

SEASIDE — Iron Chef Goes Coastal, a competition between local chefs, returns to the Seaside Civic and Convention Center at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Organized by United Way of Clatsop County, this year’s event challenges chefs to open two black boxes of secret ingredients in two rounds of competition. Meanwhile, more than a dozen local restaurants will vie to win over the palates of attendees in the People’s Choice competition.

The top two will take on this year’s winning chef at next year’s event. In a dessert contest, competitors will vie for the title of Best Dessert of Clatsop County and a golden whisk.
