Seaside art in June: Plein-air works, antique sea animals

SEASIDE – The First Saturday Art Walk will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday in the Historic Gilbert District in Seaside.

Crafted in Seaside, 530 Broadway St.

Featuring handmade pieces by local artists.

Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway St.

Hosting an opening reception for Melissa Jander’s “Good Stuff,” a show of oil paintings and plein-air works, made with classical and impressionist styles and a fresh energy that captivates.

Live music and door prizes will be offered, as will a drawing for candid photos by naturalist Neal Maine.

Pacific Heirloom Art and Collectables, 608 Broadway St.

This Seaside antique shop will show a collection of sea animals, such as sharks, hand-carved in wood.

Featuring three North Coast artists, including gift box maker and calligrapher Joy Diamond, photographer Richard Newman and giclee artist Deborah Albrecht.

Featuring the watercolor collages of Lauda Lacayo Gilman, ceramic mosaics by Charlotte Bruhn and silverware jewelry by Joe and Lynda Smith. Light appetizers will be served.
