Gearhart galleries in June: ‘Green tide,’ bird pastels

GEARHART — On the first Saturday of each month, stop by Gearhart from 2 to 5 p.m. to wander through town, enjoying refreshments and art from participating merchants.

A Great Gallery, 576 Pacific Way
This gallery will feature a new pastel by Susan Thomas along with watercolors by Debby Stenberg.
Stenberg enjoys all aspects of art but devotes most of her effort to painting and drawing. She enjoys painting people and capturing their emotions on canvas. She also loves the beauty of still life painting. Refreshments and goodies will be served.

Trails End Art Association, 656 A St.
Opening a new exhibit in June featuring beautiful works in multiple mediums by artist Becky Chappell. She has been working in art for most of her life. Influenced by impressionist artists and the natural world, she has embraced the work of pastel artists and the many beautiful places she traveled.
Chappell is also drawn to abstract art, its depth created with layering, mark making, organic shapes and mixed mediums. She works in oil and cold wax medium, pastel, acrylic, collage and watercolor.
An opening reception for Chappell will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday. This exhibit will be available for viewing through June 25. The gallery also offers an entry gift salon featuring unique art objects, prints, greeting cards, jewelry and pottery.
