ASTORIA — Artists are invited to apply for the sixth round of the Coastal Oregon Artist Residency, a collaborative program of Astoria Visual Arts and Recology Western Oregon.
The program focuses on the use of discarded materials to craft new works of art, encouraging public conservation of natural resources. Its four-month residency gives artists access to discarded materials from the Astoria Transfer Station as well as a stipend and studio space from June 1 through September 30. The residency closes with a public exhibition during the Astoria Art Walk in October.
Artists must reside in Clatsop, Tillamook, Pacific or Wahkiakum counties. Submissions will be accepted through March 31.
For questions about the residency, please contact Recology at rwoeducationandoutreach@recology.com. For more information on how to apply, visit www.astoriavisualarts.org.
