ASTORIA — Quarteto Nuevo will take Astoria listeners on a journey through the musical traditions of various world regions with a series of soundscapes at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Liberty Theatre.

The ensemble merges Western classical, Eastern European folk, Latin and jazz music styles, melding the music of ancient worlds and faraway places. Members include Damon Zick on saxophone and flute, Jacob Szekely on cello, Kenton Youngstrom on guitar and Felipe Fraga on percussion.
