CANNON BEACH — Tolovana Arts Colony will host a happy hour event to celebrate some of the year’s highest tides at Tolovana Hall, set for 5:30 p.m. Friday.

King Tide Happy Hour will offer snacks and drinks alongside presentations on the science of tides, including maps past and present collected by the Oregon King Tides Project.

Speakers will include Jesse Jones, of CoastWatch, in a discussion about community science projects, as well as Carl Hendrickson and Elissa Connolly-Randazzo of the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development.
