ASTORIA — A New Year’s Day 5K will depart from Barbey Maritime Center at 9 a.m. Sunday, rounding out a series of four holiday-themed races.

Organized by Astoria Parks and Recreation, the event will offer prizes for a variety of age categories. A race clock will be provided to participants, who will be responsible for recording their time.

This event is open to all ages. Cost is $10 per event or $30 for all four events, free for children 5 and under with an accompanying adult. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. For full rules and more information, visit www.astoriaparks.com.
