A sailboat heads up the Columbia River.

ASTORIA — Boaters are invited to bring their vessels and start the new year with a cruise from the Astoria Yacht Club to Pier 39, set for 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Boats will dock and captains, crew, family and friends will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch on the pier before sailing back to the clubhouse.
