Poet to release third collection, read from new book

“What to Do with Night,” by Florence Sage.

ASTORIA – Poet and columnist Florence Sage will release “What to Do with Night,” a new book, at a reading set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at KALA.

The “Poems and Pie” event will celebrate the book of 67 poems, Sage’s third collection, with complimentary pie from Astoria’s Blue Scorcher Bakery, served after the author’s reading.

Her writing is known for its lyrical stories, conversational style, wry twists and tender approach. The book cover painting, “Blue Bunny,” is by Astoria artist David Ambrose.
