CANNON BEACH – The Cannon Beach History Center and Museum will host historian Doug Kenck-Crispin for a talk on World War II experiences across Oregon at 4 p.m. Thursday.
Kenck-Crispin will detail Oregon’s reaction to the onset of wartime following the Dec. 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. Coastal residents dimmed their headlights, blacked out their windows, set up civilian patrols and pitched in as they could.
The talk will follow a membership meeting, in which an overview of the museum’s past year will be presented. This event is free and is open to the public. Doors will close at 4:15 p.m. For more information, contact 503-436-9301 or www.cbhistory.org.
