CANNON BEACH – A seasonal favorite will be welcomed to the stage of the Coaster Theatre Playhouse as “Scrooge: The Musical” opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol,” directed by Cathey Ryan, will continue a yearlong celebration of the venue’s 50th year in Cannon Beach. The play will star Thomas Ryan as Ebenezer Scrooge and Bennett Hunter as Jacob Marley.

Other familiar roles will be portrayed by Hadassah Davis, Cyndi Fisher, Jeff (Slam) Slamal, Marta Thysell, Julien Anctil, Chelsea Munguia Oros, Bryan Lelek, David Sweeney, Heidi Hoffman, Carson Shulte and Toddy Adams.

The group will be supported by an ensemble cast, with performances running at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 17, as well as matinees set for 3 p.m. on Nov. 27 and Dec. 18.

Admission requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test. Face masks are encouraged for all attendees. Admission for the show is $25 to $30, available at the theater box office or at www.coastertheatre.com.
