Peninsula boating safety course offered by Coast Guard

ILWACO, Wash. – A course on critical boat safety practices will be offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 62, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ilwaco Fire Station.
This course will cover knowledge needed to obtain a Washington Boater Education Card, required for most boaters in the state. Material covered will include boating laws, personal watercraft requirements, safety equipment, rules of navigation, collision avoidance, boating accidents and rescues.
Cost is $25 and will include materials. This will be offered as a hybrid course, combining in-class and virtual instruction. For more information, contact Marcus Smith at 208-874-7673.
