The Oyster Crackers are a harmonious folk quartet based on Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula and Astoria. Rita Smith, Christl Mack, Bette Lu Krause and Phyllis Taylor offer songs of hope and inspiration, an eclectic mix of Americana, Celtic and original music.
Relax and enjoy a Sunday afternoon of beautiful harmonies accompanied by guitar, cello, and fiddle. This quartet have sung for many years with choral ensembles. Taylor is a classically trained cellist turned folk musician. Several members of the group are retired educators, and all currently create art and music.
This past winter, the group released an album called The Oyster Crackers: “Home Grown Pearls.”
