Artists and mural wall space sought for SMART Reading mural

ASTORIA — A statewide early literacy nonprofit is seeking a local artist and wall space for an exterior public art mural project in Clatsop County.

SMART Reading is an organization that provides children with books and reading support. As part of a statewide celebration of SMART Reading’s 30th anniversary, the group is commissioning murals inspired by children’s books in 10 communities across Oregon.

The vision for the murals is to embody the fun and imaginative power of children’s books and their ability to transform lives and open doors to opportunities and adventures.
