This weekend features a variety of local events and regional updates, many of which are featured throughout this week’s print edition and online at coastweekend.com.

Starting Thursday and running through Sunday will be the Spring Unveiling Arts Festival in Cannon Beach. Regional artists’ newest works will be displayed at local galleries. Plus, live demonstrations will be peppered throughout the event.

On Saturday, The Harbor’s annual Soup Bowl will begin. Event tickets will support The Harbor plus local restaurants, which are providing bowls of soup throughout May to ticket-buyers. In the afternoon and evening, the Gearhart and Seaside art walks will happen, where attendees can view new art exhibits and connect with artists and gallery owners. Later in the evening, the Sou’wester will host its first in-person concert of the year.

Other events and programs are available to read about online and in this week’s print edition.

If you have a story idea or press release, please send your information to aevans@dailyastorian.com. Submissions can also be uploaded under the “Send Us Your News” section on coastweekend.com.

Coast Weekend accepts story ideas and press releases until Tuesday the week before publication. Information that comes in after Tuesday will not be published in print but might go online.

Press releases are not printed verbatim and instead are rewritten as short news briefs.

Readers are also encouraged to send in calendar listings. These should also be emailed to aevans@dailyastorian.com or uploaded to coastweekend.com. Events are viewable through Coast Weekend’s online event calendar, which is updated daily.

If an event’s information changes, please let us know as soon as possible.

And as always, let me know if you have any questions or ideas at aevans@dailyastorian.com or 971-704-1721.
