- Flowers blossom on a tree along the Astoria Riverwalk in April 2020.
As each cold, winter day passes in March, the North Coast is a little closer to the warmer days of spring. As flowers blossom and the daylight sticks around longer, a new, fresh season will begin.
In honor of the new season, a collection of readers’ poetry will be featured in an April edition of Coast Weekend. Whether you’re already a published writer or want to try writing poetry for the first time, you’re welcome to participate.
Poems can explore any topic but those that relate to spring or to life on the North Coast are preferred. To participate, send up to three poems to editor@coastweekend.com by April 11. Include your name and town of residence in your email.
Other ways to participate in Coast Weekend
Coast Weekend’s monthly book club will feature author Tamara Kaye Sellman, whose book “Intention Tremor” features a collection of poems inspired by living with multiple sclerosis. Sellman will talk about the book during a virtual Zoom meeting on April 14.
The book is available to purchase at moonpathpress.com/tamarasellman.htm. Author proceeds go to the Accelerated Cure Project.
If you have a story idea or suggestion for content you’d like to see in Coast Weekend, send an email to editor@coastweekend.com or fill out the “send us your news” form on coastweekend.com.
