Scratchpad: Help us celebrate you
Published 2:00 pm Monday, December 16, 2019
Our Clatsop and Pacific community is built by the humans that call this place home and carried on the backs of the countless people that dedicate their lives to bettering our surroundings.
Some of them have made careers out of their commitment to continue improving our region, such as our government officials, firefighters, nonprofit employees and more. For others, making a difference is a passion project they work toward on evenings and weekends, such as animal shelter volunteers, beach clean-up enthusiasts and food bank helpers.
Regardless of the title, we believe those people deserve to be recognized.
As the year and the decade come to an end, Coast Weekend wants to highlight all the leaders, creatives and doers that keep propelling our community forward.
By now, you’re likely thinking of someone you know who fits this description perfectly, and that’s why we need your help.
We’re searching for 19 people who made a difference in 2019, and we’re opening up the nomination process to all of you. If you know someone who deserves to be recognized for the work they’ve put in to bettering Clatsop and Pacific Counties, please reach out.
Send that person’s name, photo and contact information to editor@coastweekend.com, as well as a short bio that explains why they should be featured as one of the 19 folks that made a difference this year.
We’ll publish a piece on them in next year’s first issue, Jan. 2, 2020. Take the weekend to reflect on all the people who are making a difference, and send in your nominations by the end of the day Monday.
We can’t wait to hear about all the individuals working toward the collective goal of making our home a kind, thoughtful, holistic place to live.
