SEASIDE – On July 6, the Friends of the Seaside Library will host Paleontologist Dr. David Taylor, as he speaks about “Dinosaurs: Field Notes from a Paleontologist.” The event takes place in the Community Room at 1 p.m.

Dr. Taylor will present a slide tour that will include his discovery and excavation of a triceratops skeleton in Wyoming as well as his excavation of the duckbill dinosaur sacrum found in Oregon.

He will detail how, when and where dinosaurs lived in regions of the Northwest.

The slide show will be followed by hands-on activities where kids and adults may handle real dinosaur bones teeth and other specimens.

In conjunction with the event, there will be an exhibit that will feature, “Oregon’s first dinosaur fossil” which is hip bones of a duckbill dinosaur. The exhibit will also include the horn core of a triceratops and the cast of a tyrannosaurus nose. There will also be other specimens including a dinosaur track and additional duckbill dinosaur bones from Montana.
