World of Haystack Rock puts puffins in the spotlight

- Watch for puffins at Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach during the morning hours, when they are most active. Interpretive guides and scopes will be set up during The Great Puffin Watch Saturday through Tuesday.
CANNON BEACH — The next “World of Haystack Rock” lecture — “The Puffin Study” with Shawn Stephensen — takes place 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13.
Stephensen has been a wildlife biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for nearly 28 years.
Library Lecture Series is held 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month through May at the Cannon Beach Library, 131 N. Hemlock St. Events are sponsored by Friends of Haystack Rock and the Cannon Beach Library.
