MANZANITA — The Correo Aereo Trio performs at the Hoffman Center for the Arts, 594 Laneda Ave., at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2. Admission is $15, cash only.
Correo Aereo (Air Mail) Trio is an award-winning acoustic multi-instrumental and vocal Latin/world music group. They perform traditional music of Latin America, especially of Venezuela, Argentina and Mexico, as well as their own original music.
Together, Abel Rocha, Madeleine Sosin and Amy Denio combine an array of string, percussive and reed instruments with silken vocal harmonies described by the Austin Chronicle as “locked in carnal embrace.”
Their music is fiery, haunting and joyful. Abel sings and plays harp, guitar and cuatro. Madeleine sings and plays violin, maracas, bombo and jarana. Amy Denio sings and plays clarinet and accordion.
