Coast Weekend is seeking freelancers to cover all aspects of Columbia-Pacific arts, culture, entertainment and coastal life: music, theater, books, film, artists, galleries, nature-based activities, dining and other local offerings.

Though experience in news or covering an arts beat is preferred, the important qualities to have are a strong voice, smooth copy, a commitment to accuracy and care with details. An ideal applicant would be familiar with annual events that take place on the North Oregon and Southern Washington coasts.

What do you want to write about? Do you have a specialty? Would you rather pitch stories or have them assigned to you? Do you prefer to work on a piece over several weeks, or can you turn something around in a few days? Let us know!
