ASTORIA — Clatsop Community College is offering several opportunities to enhance your skills related to grant management and proposal writing.

Sign up now for Grant Administration: A Practical Guide held on two Saturdays, Oct. 10 and 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Clatsop Community College.
This practical course covers the basic processes of organizing and keeping up with the paperwork, reporting, communications and challenges of managing a grant, including files that are needed and financial compliance.
The course will focus on the practical structure of grant management from small foundation grants to more complex federal grants. Students will understand the basic day-to-day administration of a grant: timelines, adherence to goals and objectives, recordkeeping, technical and financial reporting. Learn to approach the process of managing a grant positively and confidently, and create an organized grant workbook or file.

This workshop is taught by Cynthia Callivourssi, who has a bachelor’s in business administration, business law and management with 20-plus years of grant proposal writing and grant program administration experience. She has been an instructor for basic grant proposal development courses and a grant reviewer.

In addition, the CCC Dora Badollet Library, in cooperation with the Foundation Center, is hosting a free workshop entitled Introduction to Proposal Writing from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 22. Whether you are new to proposal writing or want a quick refresher, this workshop is for you. This newly revised class will provide an overview of how to write a standard project proposal to a foundation. It will include: the basic elements of a proposal, dos and don’ts of writing and submitting a proposal, and how to follow up — whether the answer is yes or no.
