“It Could Be Any One Of Us” is a play by Alan Ayckbourn. In a windswept country house, a family of artistic failures wrangles over a will: a detective who has never solved a case; a writer whose works have never been published, an artist who’s never shown a painting and a composer whose compositions have never been performed, and a dysfunctional teenager.

Here are the prime ingredients for a murder mystery, but the victim is not who it should be; the murder’s identity changes overnight. Throw in some tongue-in-cheek humor for some comedic thrills.

Stewart Martin plays the character Mortimer Chalke. Being an older brother and a musical fellow, Martin appreciates Mortimer’s responsibilities, dilemmas and proclivities. While social constructs prevent most of us from really “acting out” in life, on stage, the sky can be the limit: A person can be syrupy sweet, a royal pain, intimidating, talented and threatening or boisterously brilliant. Martin has performed in shows at the Coaster Theatre such as “A Christmas Carol,” “She Loves Me,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Deathtrap,” “Scrooge” and “Arsenic and Old Lace.” He has tripped through several in Tillamook, many in Nehalem, and even traipsed out to Forest Grove for “Young Frankenstein the Musical.”

Ann Bronson plays Jocelyn Polegate. Bronson’s Coaster Theatre career started with “The Music Man” in the summer of 2000. Most recently, she was seen as the suicidal Jessie in “‘night Mother,” the Witch in last summer’s production of “Into the Woods,” and in the 2013 holiday musical of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas.” She hasn’t been in a whodunit since appearing in “The Mousetrap in 2001, but she is looking forward to returning to the realm of mystery, murder and mayhem.

Cedar Braasch performs as Brinton Chalke. Braasch grew up on the Oregon Coast and after high school attended the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico. He was invited to New York his junior year to audition and was cast for the 50th anniversary of “West Side Story” at the Gerald W. Lynch theater in association with the New York Arts Program. The following year back in Santa Fe graduated with his Bachelor of Fine Arts in theater and acting. He now resides in Portland and has appeared in numerous productions with the One Horn Goats and Imago Theater Co. He recently appeared on the Coaster Theatre stage in “Mixed Emotions.”

Gretchen Hoekstre plays Amy Polegate. While Hoekstre’s acting resume is short, she has participated in the Coaster Theatre Kidz summer camps and was most recently involved in the 2014 holiday musical, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.“

Frank Jagodnik plays Norris Honeywell. It’s no mystery that Jagodnik is excited to join a fun and anything but dysfunctional cast in his 46th Coaster Theatre production since 1997. He last appeared as Canon Pennefather in “Murder on the Nile” this spring. Some of his favorite roles have included Malvolio in “Twelfth Night,” Elyot Chase in “Private Lives,” Ebeneezer Scrooge in “A Christmas Carol,” Sidney Bruhl in “Deathtrap” and Philip Lombard in “Ten Little Indians.”

Ellen Jensen plays Wendy Windwood. This show marks Jensen’s 12th show at the Coaster Theatre.. She spends her days with textbooks or espresso machines, and her nights at the theater and/or with the amazing psychos she is blessed to call her friends.

The show is directed by Ryan Hull, who previously directed “Around the World in 80 Days” and last summer’s “Into the Woods.” At Clackamas College he directed “No Exit” and was involved in writing an outreach project/musical for Clackamas County that performed in County schools. At Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, he wrote two plays: “Gyros, Gyros” and “Non-Stop,” which he directed at the Fred Stone Theatre. Hull later completed the actors training program at the Circle in the Square Theatre on Broadway. During his time at Circle in the Square he directed “The Unseen Hand” and assistant directed “The Cherry Orchard.” In New York, he was also a founding member of Phenomenon Productions Theatre Company where he produced three shows, “Zasstrozzi: The Master of Discipline,” “The Just Assassin” and “Beyond.”

The play is sponsored by The Ocean Lodge, Inn at Cannon Beach, Lodges at Cannon Beach, Probuild/Milgard, Leland E.G. Larson and U.S. Bank

The show runs June 12, 13, 21, 27, July 2, 8, 10, 16, 19, 22, 24, 30, Aug. 1, 6, 8, 12, 14, 16, 20, 22, 26, 28, 30 and Sept. 3 and 5.
