ASTORIA — The Columbia River Maritime Museum invites you to HELM.
This special Hands-on program will provide you with opportunities to Explore, Learn and create Meaning, all while having fun. Visit the museum now to Saturday, Jan. 3 to take part in the museum’s first HELM event, “Canneries: How Astoria became a bustling little city.”
Try your hand at a salmon toss, test your speed during a timed canning challenge, and see if you’ve got what it takes to complete a grand salmon run through the museum.
Look for the HELM headquarters, open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Ford Room. The museum is located at 1792 Marine Drive. HELM is included with museum admission and is free for members.
