Astoria Art Walk: Astoria Hemp Works

ASTORIA – Astoria’s Second Saturday Art Walk gains a new stop this month. Astoria Hemp Works will be participating in its first art walk from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12.

Featured will be fused and slumped glass works by Portland artists Kathy Engholm and Valerie Kinman. Also from Portland will be the unique insect inspired colored resin works of Jocelyn McAuley. Colleen Patrick Williams will display two of her semi-controversial lighted stained glass pieces. Large format textile works by Judy Pierce and the black and white photography of Duncan Wurm will also be on display.
Additional artists are expected to have works installed by the date of the walk.
Astoria Hemp Works is an eco-fiber clothing store and art gallery located at the corner of 14th and Exchange streets. The store represents only Oregon artists working in various mediums, and also offers men’s and women’s clothing and accessories in hemp, bamboo, organic cotton and tencel. Astoria Hemp Works also carries a variety of hemp lotions and balms as well as other hemp products. The store focuses on buying products made in America.
