Tool fans gather in Tillamook for Old Iron Show

Farm equipment or yard art? You decide at the Old Iron Show. Oh, they have smaller items too.

TILLAMOOK – The Northwest Old Iron Club will hold its seventh annual Old Iron Show Aug. 20 through 22, at Blue Heron French Cheese Company. Admission is $3 for adults and free for ages 12 and younger.

The display will include antique tractors, logging tools, farm equipment, early day gas engines, old lawn and garden equipment, miscellaneous old tools, equipment and old cars. Swap meet vendors will sell garden art and household items as well as rusty iron. Food will be available on site.

Show hours are noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22. Daily activities include tractor parade, barrel roll and balance platform. New this year is a kids’ pedal tractor pull. The Tillamook FFA Chapter’s tractor driving contest will be at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Blue Heron French Cheese Company (www.blueheronoregon.com) is located at 2001 Blue Heron Drive, off U.S. Highway 101 one mile north of downtown Tillamook. The show is sponsored by the Northwest Old Iron Club, EDGETA (Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association, www.edgeta.org) Branch 159 of Tillamook. The club, with approximately 60 members, is dedicated to preserving, restoring and displaying early American tools, farm and logging equipment.
