BIRKENFELD – The 11th annual Run 21 is coming to Birkenfeld July 23 through 25, hosted by the Southeast Portland Chapter of ABATE of Oregon Inc. (www.abatese.net). Run 21 is an adults-only motorcycle run and everyone, motorcyclist or not, is welcome to attend.

The music headliners this year include the Pat Travers Band, the Jimmy Van Zant Band and Shooter Jennings. Tribute bands include No Quarter (Led Zeppelin) and the Randy Hansen Band (Jimi Hendrix) as well as two biker favorites, the Saturday Night Orphans and Francine West and the High Speed Wobblers. Traditional biker entertainment includes bike games, a bike show, the Run 21 Girls, a tattoo contest, a best beer belly contest, a fashion show and much more. There will be food, service and accessories vendors.

Run 21 started out in Hood River in 2000 with around 450 people in attendance. The run was then moved to the scenic Birkenfeld community where attendance has grown to more than 2,000 attendees in recent years.

The proceeds from the run are used to promote motorcycle legislation, safety and education. Also, monies are donated to a fund to help feed the homeless at the Harbor Lights Mission in Portland and the ABATE/Shriners Toy Run (www.abatetoyrun.com) to raise money for specialized equipment for the children at the Shriners Hospital.

Tickets are $50 per person in advance or $60 per person at the gate. For more information, camp rules and to purchase tickets, visit www.run21.biz
