Go gunning for clams at Fort Stevens

HAMMOND – Fort Stevens State Park will offer a program about how to dig razor clams Saturday, May 15. Meet on the beach at the Peter Iredale Shipwreck at 7 a.m. The shipwreck is located at the end of Peter Iredale Road, off U.S. Highway 101, south of Hammond.

The program will cover regulations, life history and digging techniques for the razor clam. A limited number of clam guns and shovels will be available for participants. A valid Oregon Shellfish license is required for anyone 14 or older who wants to dig.
