Orpheus Youth Ensemble concerts

LONG BEACH PENINSULA, Wash. – The Water Music Festival presents the Orpheus Youth Ensemble in performance at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Inn at Harbour Village, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Peninsula Baptist Church.

The concerts will include madrigals staged in traditional Renaissance costume followed by the premiere of works and arrangements by director Barbara Poulshock, including three settings of Emily Dickinson poems, as well as her favorite beef stroganoff recipe set to music by her late husband Normand.

The ensemble is composed of sopranos Brier Gregory and Anja Patten, altos Brooke Flood and Madison Baker, tenors Calen Thompson and August Davenport and basses Troy Reardon and Dane Gregory, accompanied by Terri Miller on flute and Poulshock on piano.

Admission is free of charge. Donations are welcome to help defray costs.

The Inn at Harbour Village is located at 120 Williams Ave., N.E., in Ilwaco, Wash. Peninsula Baptist Church is located at 23802 Pacific Way in Ocean Park, Wash.

There will be a final concert Sunday, Feb. 14, at Hilltop Auditorium. The grand finale of “A Love Affair with Music: I’ll Tell You How the Sun Rose” will be at 4 p.m. that afternoon. More details will be coming soon.
