History talks at Julia Butler Hansen Heritage Center

CATHLAMET, Wash. – The Julia Butler Hansen Heritage Center will be holding a new weekly event called Talking History from 2 to 3 p.m. Fridays starting June 5.

Center Director Kayrene Gilbertsen will show footage of local residents sharing their stories and memories of Wahkiakum, providing a unique insight into the area’s past. Admission is free and the programs are open to all ages. The sessions will focus on the history and culture of Wahkiakum, promising to showcase some amazing characters.

The Julia Butler Hansen Heritage Center is located at 35 Butler St. and is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The center can also be viewed by appointment and is available for meetings, conferences or special events.
