Reina Collins Trio to play in Astoria and Seaside

Portland singer and songwriter Reina Collins brings her Americana trio to Redhare, 260 10th St., at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 23. Admission is $10.

Collins has been performing more than 20 years and crosses musical boundaries to cover styles including rock, jazz, folk and country. She has entertained at festivals including Bite of Oregon, Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival, Northern Rockies Folk Festival and Clearwater Jazz Holiday; ski resorts; weddings; corporate events and community fundraisers. Her recordings have received international airplay and she has traveled the United States as a touring musician.
Collins has recorded three albums. Her most recent is “Austin to Boston,” inspired by a 10,000-mile solo road trip. She can be heard in and around Portland with her roots-classic rock band, Americana acoustic trio or her jazz trio. Currently co-writing with Nashville songwriter-producer and Emmylou Harris band member Phil Madeira, Collins will begin recording her fourth album in June.
Accompanying Collins to the coast will be guitarists Hal Gerard and Birger Olsen. The trio will also perform at 7 p.m. Friday, May 22, at Goose Hollow at the Cove, 220 Avenue U in Seaside. There is no cover charge.

A Florida native who discovered an attraction for the west, Collins has lived in Southern California, Teton Valley, Idaho, and now calls Portland home.
