Finn Fest calls for art

NASELLE, Wash. – The 2008 Finnish American Folk Festival, “Knee Deep in Finns,” is fishing for artwork, which can include paintings, drawings, photos and prints, jewelry, weaving, sculpture, pottery, basketry or other artworks, in any medium including wood, metal, fabric, glass, clay, stone and mixed media, for display in the Finnish American Folk Festival Gallery of Artists.
The art gallery displays will be further enhanced by colorful floral arrangements, as are many of the Finnish craft and historic exhibits featured in the event center at Naselle High School. The Festival Gallery of Artists will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26.
Works ready to display will be accepted at the high school from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, July 23 and 24.
