ILWACO, Wash. – The Ilwaco Timberland Library will be closed for two weeks beginning at 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, so the library can be moved to a temporary building. The library will reopen at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, at 110 First Ave. S., just down the street from the current location.

The library will be in the temporary location while the Ilwaco Community Center is renovated, a project that will take about a year. The renovated library will offer about 1,200 square feet more space for materials and comfortable reading areas. The center will also have a shared meeting room.

During the closure, materials that library cardholders have placed on hold will be mailed to them. When the temporary location opens, holds will once again be at the library for pickup.

The temporary location has less space than the current library, but will have the same open hours, services, programs, telephone number and seven public computers. The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Borrowers can return library materials to other Timberland libraries or to the book drop, but the library asks that people do not leave materials if the book drop is full. Items that would normally come due during the closure will have their due dates extended.
