MANZANITA – Say farewell to the summer street party season during the Manzanita Merchants Association’s final Art Walk, 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23. “It’s a little sad to have the final Art Walk of the summer, but it will be great to get everyone to come out and play one last time before the rains start,” said Ginny Salkowski, Art Walk coordinator and Manzanita Merchants Association president.
During the Art Walk, look for participating merchants on Laneda Avenue to stay open late, offer free refreshments and play host to live performances by local musicians. In addition, Art Walkers can enter to win raffle prizes by following merchant treasure maps. Prizes include free overnight stays in Manzanita, gift certificates, local artwork and more. The Art Walk will end at the Pine Grove Community Center, where the local Healing Arts Festival is taking place the same evening. “Art Walkers can see demonstrations of how music and art can be used to heal the body, mind and spirit,” said Salkowski. “We also have a surprise performance planned to end out the Art Walk season with flair.”
All events are free and open to the public. Artists are encouraged to participate at no charge in the event. For more information, call (503) 368-3638 or visit the Manzanita Merchants Web site at www.manzanitamerchants.com
