Steve Ackley of Warrenton spent two and a half years restoring this 1972 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda, which features a custom-built engine and a one-of-a-kind paint job. The car will make its show debut at the Muscle Beach Cruz Saturday, June 10, in Seaside. Submitted photo.

SEASIDE – Does the roar of big engines give you a thrill? Head to downtown Seaside Saturday, June 10, for the third annual Muscle Beach Cruz, where more than 250 show cars will let ’em rip.

The event is sponsored by the Seaside Downtown Development Association and Flashback Promotions. The muscle cars, all built in America between 1960 and 1978, will line the main street for a “show and shine” open to the public, followed by a parade, or “cruz,” to display their beauty and power. After the cruz, visitors and participants can catch the Commander Cody Band in concert at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 general admission and $20 reserved seating, and can be purchased online at www.seasidescents.com or by phone at (503) 738-7051 or (503) 717-1503.
