Woodburning artist shares her technique

CANNON BEACH – Shirley Dees of Burning Artistry in Tigard brings her furniture and wall art to the ballroom of the Surfsand Resort for an 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. show and demonstration Sunday, May 2.

Dees promises that anyone can learn this basic technique and make art that’s pleasing. “If you can trace lines and color in a coloring book, you’re halfway there already,” she said.

Dees’ wall art is light and easy to hang, as it has no protective glass in front or paper dust cover in back.

The Surfsand Resort is located on the corner of Gower and Hemlock streets.
