Beethoven on tap for Oregon Symphony in February

PORTLAND – The Oregon Symphony presents a month-long Beethoven Festival Jan. 30 through March 7 in Portland.

Featured are Symphonies No. 5 and No. 9, the popular children’s story, “Beethoven Lives Upstairs,” on the Kids Concerts series and a Chamber Music on Tap performance by The Four Violas. The festival starts out with Front Row Center’s “Beethoven the Revolutionary” Jan. 30 and ends with a Sundays at Two concert featuring the “Creatures of Prometheus” overture March 7.

Tickets for all of the Beethoven Festival concerts may be purchased at the Oregon Symphony Ticket Office in Portland, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday or charged by phone at (800) 228-7343. Tickets also may be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets at (503) 790-ARTS or through Ticketmaster Online via the symphony’s Web site at www.orsymphony.org
