Cultural coalition to award grants at ceremony

ASTORIA — The Clatsop County Cultural Coalition will present more than $13,000 in grant funding at a ceremony starting 6 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Columbia River Maritime Museum’s Barbey Maritime Center.

Coalition grants, funded by the Oregon Cultural Trust, will be awarded to Clatsop County organizations that promote and provide for the arts, heritage and humanities in the region.

Charlene Larsen, co-chair of the coalition, will serve as emcee, accompanied by special guest speaker Jessamyn Grace West, who is executive director of the Astoria Arts and Movement Center and a founding member of the group North Coast Arts Leaders.

Grupo de Danza Folklórica Mestizo, a dance troupe with El Centro NW, will provide entertainment. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, visit www.clatsopculturalcoalition.org.
