CANNON BEACH — Bonnie Henderson, author of “The Next Tsunami: Living on a Restless Coast” and “Strand: An Odyssey of Pacific Ocean Debris,” will give a 4 p.m. Thursday presentation at the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum.

Henderson’s talk, titled “The Stories We Tell: Myth and Science on a Restless Coast,” will focus on the Cascadia Subduction Zone fault line off the Pacific Northwest coast.

After the fault was identified in the 1960s and later found to cause a pattern of major earthquakes, Native oral histories long thought by anthropologists to be myths were found to align with science.

Henderson, who lives in Eugene, is also the author of three guides for Oregon Coast hikers, and has written for several newspapers and magazines.

Seating for this event is limited to 50 people. For more information, visit www.cbhistory.org.
