ASTORIA — Local author Jan Bono host a book signing from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at 3 Cups Coffee House, 279 W Marine Drive.

Bono writes cozy mysteries, which means there is no graphic violence or obscene language.

Instead, Bono fills her pages with quirky characters, an amateur sleuth who works with her friends in the police department, lots of humor and a small town that looks suspiciously like Long Beach.

“Cozy mysteries are a genre all their own,” Bono said, referring to it as good clean fun.

She has published a number of books including “Bottom Feeders,” “Starfish,” “Crab Bait” and “Hook, Line & Sinker.”
