‘Water supply and purification for emergencies’ talk at Fort George

ASTORIA – Clatsop Community College’s Ales & Ideas presents “Water Supply and Purification for Emergencies,” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Fort George Brewery, 14th and Duane St. This is a free event. Minors are welcome.
Author, lecturer and emergency planning expert Shaun Martin will present a lecture to prepare families for disaster. He will demonstrate several methods of collecting, storing and converting seemingly unusable water into clean, lifesaving, drinkable water with a focus on techniques and sources specific to our community. Audience members will learn several methods to remove contaminants
Shaun Martin serves as CCC’s Senior Project Manager. He has 35 years of experience in the US Army and US Army Corps of Engineers and holds a Master’s in Homeland Security Studies from the US Army Command and General Staff College.
