Hike on Astoria Riverwalk, Seaside Prom in March

The Angora Hiking Club’s 2019 hikes begin in March.
The first walk is easy: Astoria Riverwalk East from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 6. Participants will meet at the new location on Marine Drive, between Second and Third Street just west of Burger King. Carpooling will be arranged to head to the Columbia River Maritime Museum. The walk will include unobstructed views of the Columbia River and travel east past the sea lions on 36th Street. It will include a loop through the Alderbrook neighborhood.
Call hike leader Roger Wasterman at 213-448-9441 the day before if you plan to participate. It is not necessary to be a member to walk with the club. Dogs are not allowed, however.
The second March hike takes place the first day of spring: 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 20. Participants will meet at the new location listed above. They will carpool to the Seaside public parking lot, west of the Civic & Convention Center entrance on First Avenue. It is located on Oceanway and Columbia streets. Meet at the restrooms near Our Lady of Victory Church. The walk will be along the Prom past the Seaside Aquarium.
