ARCH CAPE — Free presentations on the Arch Cape Forest take place 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Arch Cape Fire Station, 79279 U.S. Highway 101. Refreshments will be provided.

The Arch Cape Domestic Water Supply District has applied for a Federal Forest Legacy grant to assist in the acquisition of the forest land that forms the backdrop of Arch Cape and supplies the community’s drinking water.
North Coast Land Conservancy is simultaneously working to acquire an adjacent parcel, including Onion Peak, as part of the “Rainforest Reserve.” All partners are collaborating to protect these coastal headlands.
On Saturday, there will be presentations by Mary Olson, Arch Cape Forest’s outreach coordinator, and Shreejita Basu, of Sustainable Northwest. Geologist Tom Horning will also give a presentation titled “The Geology of Arch Cape and Angora Peak.”
