ASTORIA — Astoria Parks and Recreation announces the next event in its Park After Dark summer 2015 series.

All ages are invited to watch the classic 1985 science-fiction comedy adventure movie “Back to the Future,” directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, on Saturday, July 25.

In the film, teenager Marty McFly is accidentally sent 30 years into the past to 1955 via a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his friend, Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown. McFly meets his high-school-age parents and must make sure they unite in order to save his own existence — only one problem: He accidentally becomes his mother’s romantic interest. McFly must repair the damage to history by causing his parents-to-be to fall in love, and, with the help of his eccentric scientist friend, he must find a way to return to 1985. The film is rated PG.

The movie screening will take place at McClure Park, located at Eighth Street and Grand Avenue.

The park opens at 8 p.m., and the movie starts at 9 p.m. There is a $5 entry fee, and food by the North Coast Food Web and beer will be available for sale.

Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the film.

Proceeds go to the Astoria Parks, Recreation and Community Foundation to raise money for Astoria Parks and Recreation scholarships.
