Cannon Beach Gallery calls for art for annual miniatures show

CANNON BEACH The Cannon Beach Gallery will host its 27th annual Miniatures Show from Nov. 1 to Dec. 2. Regional artists can submit up to four pieces of original artwork for this juried show, all of the artwork must be 6-inches by 6-inches or smaller (not including the frame) and be wired on the back for hanging. Artwork that is not gallery ready and presented in a professional manner will not be considered. All media are encouraged, including sculpture and photography.

The Annual Miniatures Show at the Cannon Beach Gallery is a popular exhibition with both Northwest artists and art patrons. The exhibit traditionally opens during Stormy Weather Arts Festival, a town-wide arts celebration in Cannon Beach. This years exhibit will showcase folk artist Zemula Fleming as the featured artist. Gallery Director Andrea K. Mace will act as the juror for the show with support from the Cannon Beach Arts Association Gallery Committee.

Artists may mail in submissions for this show; a return UPS label and a $10 check for processing must be included. The forms for the show are available online at www.cannonbeacharts.org. The submission time for the show is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29. Artists will be notified by email or phone by Thursday, Oct. 31 as to whether or not their work was accepted. Artists must make arrangements to retrieve any work that is not accepted by Saturday, Nov. 2. The Cannon Beach Gallery does not have storage space to store artists work.

The artists reception for the show will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2; it is an open event with light refreshments served.
