Everybody loves a clean beach. You can help clean the beaches on the Long Beach Peninsula Saturday, April 17.

CANNON BEACH – Cannon Beach Elementary School will hold its first Spring Walk/Run on the Beach, starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24. Everyone is welcome to enjoy beautiful views while running out and back on the beach, in the 5K or 10K run, 5K walk or 1-mile kids’ run. Parents may run with their children in the 1-mile kids’ run.

“Fit Kids, Healthy Futures” is the event motto, and that’s what the organizers hope to achieve with the walk/run and the after-school Fit Club. Cannon Beach Elementary School students will be out collecting pledges for running in the mile event, so if you would like to sponsor a child or participate in the event, call the school at (503) 436-2294. Cannon Beach Elementary School is located at 268 Beaver St. The school playground is bordered on one side by the beach.
