The Blue Scorcher Bakery and Cafe will host “A Full Moon Feast” reservation dinner in honor of the Persian New Year and the vernal equinox at 6 p.m. Friday, March 21. The dinner will consist of five courses ending in a selection of seven desserts.

The dinner is vegetarian, organic and will showcase traditional Persian New Year’s Day dishes such as noodle soup, traditional flatbreads, a mezza plate and traditional herbed egg kuku, among others. Each dish will be made to symbolize the seven angelic heralds of life: rebirth, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, patience and beauty. The dinner will end with a selection of seven different pastries served with lavender mint tea.

The dinner will be in honor of a prosperous new year, in hopes of bringing good luck and to welcome the coming of spring. Dinners are $50 each and reservations are required.

This is part of an ongoing monthly dinner event called “A Full Moon Feast” hosted by the Blue Scorcher Bakery and Cafe, 1493 Duane St. For more information, call Iris Daire at (503) 338-7473.
