CANNON BEACH – The Coaster Theatre will be holding auditions for two summer repertory shows, Agatha Christie’s “The Unexpected Guest” and Ivan Menchell’s “The Cemetery Club.” Auditions take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16, and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17. Both plays will be auditioned both days.

“The Unexpected Guest” opens as a stranger walks into a house to find a man murdered and his wife standing over him with a gun. Did she commit the crime? The answer is not so obvious, and what follows is a Pandora’s box of loves and hates, suspicions and intrigues. There are roles for six men, three women and one dead body: four men, ages 35 to 60; one man, age 20s to 30s; one man, late teens to early 20s; one woman, late 20s to 30s; one woman, 40s to 60; and one woman, 60s to 80s. The play opens June 20.

“The Cemetery Club” tells the story of three widows who meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husbands’ graves. A touching comedy, this play has roles for four women, ages 40s to 70s, and one man, age 50s to 70s. “The Cemetery Club” opens July 10.
